No fee per release
Export as many masters as you like. There is no per-release charge, no credit system and nothing to unlock before you deliver to a client.
Pricing
A perpetual licence per major version, with free updates in between. No subscription, nothing that stops working because a renewal lapsed — and no fee on anything you produce with it.
Play and inspect saimox files, with reactive triggers and binaural preview including HRTF head tracking. No account, no expiry.
The full authoring tool. ADM-BWF and IAMF bridges, microphone arrays, the pattern engine, triggers, physics and the standard export targets.
Adds stem separation, Lift, batch export, delivery packs, approval links and the DJ workspace.
Adds cinema IAB, NHK 22.2 and Auro-3D layouts, plus direct support from the person who wrote the code.
One-time means once for version 1.x. Every update from 1.0 to 1.9 is included and free, for as long as version 1 is supported. Version 2 will be a separate purchase at an upgrade price — and your version 1 licence keeps working whether you take it or not. Prices exclude VAT. Upgrading between tiers costs the difference, never the full price. Enterprise Unlimited removes the object limit from the software entirely; from there the only limit is what your machine can render, and the built-in system check tells you what that is.
We run two Dolby Atmos Music Studios. We know exactly what that room costs. This is 149 €.
What stays free
The format is not the product. Reading it, writing it, hosting it and distributing it costs nothing and always will — no per-unit fee, no decoder licence, no watermark on anything you export.
Export as many masters as you like. There is no per-release charge, no credit system and nothing to unlock before you deliver to a client.
Anyone can open what you made, on any platform the player runs on, without paying us anything. A format nobody can play is not a format.
No seasonal sales, no Black Friday, no launch pricing that punishes early buyers. The price you see is the price everyone pays.
Full comparison
Everything that makes an object an object is in the lowest paid tier. What grows with price is capacity, batch workflow and delivery formats — not the ideas.

The cap is a number in the software, nothing else. Studio stops you at 192 objects in one project, Pro at 512, Enterprise at 1024 — not because the format runs out, and not because the renderer does. Those are the counts we test, support and put in writing.
Enterprise Unlimited removes that number. The software then lets you add objects until your machine says no. There is no second limit hiding behind the first — the format has none, and neither does the renderer.
And you do not have to guess where your machine gives up. The built-in system check measures render headroom, disk throughput and audio device latency on your actual hardware and tells you how many objects it will carry before it stutters. It runs in real steps rather than estimating: objects are read from disk, decoded and rendered through the real output device until the machine says stop. On our own machines that is 4,096 objects with 32 GB of memory and 8,192 with 64 GB — roughly 1,024 objects per 8 GB, because each object holds a ring buffer. Run it before you buy the option, not after.
Playback is never capped on any tier. A free player opens a piece with any number of objects in it.
Anything beyond a 9.1.6 rig is Enterprise — cinema IAB, NHK 22.2 and the Auro-3D layouts are delivery specifications rather than rooms most people mix in.
Every tool and converter listed on the tools page is included at the tier shown there. The object cap applies to authoring only. Playback is never capped — the free player opens a 1024-object file exactly as intended.
How to buy
There is no checkout button, and that is deliberate. Every licence is issued by hand, which means your details never pass through a payment platform in another jurisdiction — and the person answering your email is a real human being — skin, bones and an actual brain, not a workflow.
Fourteen days with the full tool, bound to your machine. No card, no account, no sign-up form. Long enough to finish a real project and find out whether it fits your work.
Tell us which tier you need and we send an invoice. Payment by bank transfer, or by card at our terminal. Ask questions here — we would rather talk you into the right tier than the expensive one.
Your licence key arrives by email, usually the same working day. Enter it once and the trial becomes a permanent licence. Nothing is reinstalled and no work is lost.
Write to hello@saimox.com. Educational and non-profit pricing exists — get in touch with proof of enrolment or status.
Questions
If yours is not here, write to us — the answer arrives from a person, usually the same working day.
What you are actually buying, and for how long.
You buy a licence for version 1. Everything from 1.0 to 1.9 is included and free, for as long as version 1 is supported — new features, new formats, fixes, all of it.
Version 2, whenever it comes, is a separate purchase at an upgrade price. Your version 1 licence keeps working either way, indefinitely. Nothing expires, nothing phones home to check whether you paid again.
There is no recurring charge, no renewal date and no card kept on file. If you never buy anything from us again, the version you have keeps opening your projects in ten years.
Deactivate on the old machine, activate on the new one. A licence covers one person, not one computer — install it on your studio machine and your laptop, just do not run both at once.
Replaced a machine without deactivating it first? Write to us and we release it. That is normal, not a support case.
Authoring, monitoring and exporting all work fully offline. The software contains no analytics, does not phone home and never contacts us while you work.
Why there is no checkout button, and what happens instead.
Every order is handled by hand: we invoice you, you pay by bank transfer or card, and we issue the key. Slower for us, better for you — no third-party processor holds your data, no subscription is quietly created, and any question you have gets answered by someone who can actually answer it.
Billing, licensing and support all happen here. Nothing is outsourced.
Write to us, we send an invoice, and the key follows. Enter it once and your trial becomes a permanent licence — nothing is reinstalled and no work is lost.
Try it fully before paying anything. If something breaks after you have paid and we cannot fix it, you get your money back — write to us and say what happened.
Get in touch with proof of enrolment or status and we will sort something out. There is no form for this, because there is a person on the other end.
Capacity, the free player, and what you owe on your own work.
The cap is a number in the software and nothing more. 1024 is what we test and support, so it is what we put in writing.
Enterprise Unlimited removes that number for a one-time 1000 €. After that the software lets you add objects until your machine says no — there is no second limit behind the first, because neither the format nor the renderer has one.
Before you buy it, run the built-in system check. It measures your actual hardware in real steps and tells you how many objects it will carry before it stutters. Two of ours: 4,096 objects with 32 GB of memory, 8,192 with 64 GB. The limit is memory, not the processor — roughly 1,024 objects per 8 GB.
The cap applies to authoring only. Playback is never capped on any tier, including the free player.
On macOS the player is part of Studio and opens both an .smx working master and an .smxd delivery.
On iOS, Android and in the browser the player opens .smxd deliveries — that is the streamable, encoded format made for playback. A working master is a studio file with uncompressed audio and references to material on your disk; it is not what you send to a listener.
Either way: full reactive playback, binaural with HRTF head tracking, no time limit, no account.
No royalty, no per-release fee, no revenue share, no attribution requirement, no watermark. What you make is yours, and the files you distribute cost neither you nor your listeners a licence.
Those features are part of the tier you buy, but they are not in the 15 September release. They arrive as free updates within version 1, and you can follow what landed when on the releases page.
They are listed rather than hidden so you can decide with the whole picture. Everything without a version note is in the first build.
